Food Utopia made a space for people to collaboratively learn about initiatives helping to grow a more just and sustainable food system.
First by reading about inspiring actions from around the world (ie regenerative and urban farming, education, markets, distribution systems) then discussing them together and sharing reflections on paper to co-create a food justice zine which can be shared.
Co-creative processes connect and engage a diversity of people – with the variety of knowledge and skills needed to take action. They are a powerful tool to nourish our local community and global network, supporting each other in this work.
“Zine” is short for magazine/fanzine, the term refers to making non-commercial, small scale publications – an easy, accessible way to share ideas, art and knowledge. It’s also a great format for co-creation. This series of workshops led to the creation of a zine with contributions by activists, experts and artists together, dedicated to spreading the message of all the wonderful ways you can help grow a food utopia, starting right where you are.
This workshop series and zine is a collaboration between UAC and the Food Justice group of Mellemfolkeligt Samvirke Aarhus. The workshops were co-designed and facilitated by Sarafina McPherson Kimø who wrote and edited the zine, with layout and a comic by Miriana Greggi.
